Hamad Bin Khalifa Medical City
Location: Doha, QatarThe Hamad Bin Khalifa Medical City in Doha, Qatar, is a world class medical facility. The project is spread over 500,000 m² and comprises three hospitals with a total bed capacity of 1,100. It is the second largest healthcare development in the Middle East, a QR1 bn project built by the Korean Hyundai Company.
The Hamad Bin Khalifa Medical City is spread over three buildings, covering obstetrics and gynaecology, one-day operations, physical therapy, and rehabilitation. The project includes a women's hospital which consists of five operating rooms, 60 examination rooms at its outpatient clinic, and 21 delivery rooms. The hospital includes integrated services department for emergencies and Caesarean operations, ultra-magnetic rays, treatment rooms, and others for emergency deliveries. The facility has 190 single rooms and more than 60 beds for newborns. The one-day operations hospital building contains an array of rooms for radiology and tests as well as others for treatment. The hospital also includes 12 rooms in the Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT) department, in addition to a section for daily care. The facility consists of 11 operation rooms equipped with all recovery and resuscitation needs.
Now completed, over 35,000 m² of Firemac FM Fire Ducts form an integral part of the building’s fire protection; they have been used in basement/car park applications, smoke extract, ventilation, risers, and protected stairwells.
